The market doesnโ€™t have to make sense

Thereโ€™s a quote I heard recently on a Multicoin Capital call:ย โ€œ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฌ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜บ ๐˜ช๐˜ณ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ข๐˜ญ ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜บ ๐˜ด๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต.โ€

โ€

Iโ€™ve heard variations of it before, but it hit differently this time, because right now, the crypto market makes absolutely no sense. Everyone I talk to in crypto is confused.

โ€

On paper, everything seemed to be lining up:

๐Ÿ“ŒRegulatory clarity in the US
๐Ÿ“ŒInterest rates coming down
๐Ÿ“ŒEnd-of-cycle optimism building
๐Ÿ“ŒBigย  digital asset treasury companies increasing their exposure

โ€

Capital inflows from ETFs. Banks worrying about their stablecoin strategy.
All seemed lined up for a strong finish to the year.

โ€

Instead, weโ€™re watching some of the biggest liquidations in crypto history, and people keep asking me why this is happening.

โ€

The honest answer? I have no idea.

โ€

I do have some theories which donโ€™t even mean that much to me, and thatโ€™s exactly the point.

โ€

Markets donโ€™t move because the story makes sense. They donโ€™t reward good logic or perfect setups. At least in the short term.

โ€

They move however they wantโ€ฆ for longer than any of us expect.

โ€

This is a reminder to stay humble, and never assume youโ€™re โ€œowedโ€ a certain outcome.
