One of my favorite recent reviews of Crash Course reminds me of the biggest lessons I learned as a founder.
𝐖𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠.
Not just in building a company.
But in every interaction we have.
When you’re building something, it’s easy to think success depends on strategy, funding, or growth.
Those matters, but they’re not everything.
Entrepreneurship is never a straight path.
It’s messy, emotional, and full of surprises.
So, this is why we need:
▶️Empathy for your team when things fall apart.
▶️Empathy for your customers when you’re trying to fix their pain.
And of course, most importantly, we need empathy towards ourselves when things don’t go as planned.
The more we listen and understand others, the better founders we become. And again, the most direct way to understand others is to understand ourselves. We can not give to others what we don’t give ourselves.
Do you agree with me? What’s a moment in your journey when empathy made all the difference?
